About “Black America Votes: The Biden Interview”
In this critical stage of his re-election campaign, President Biden sat down with award-winning journalist Ed Gordon for his first on-camera interview on BET and spoke directly to Black America. The conversation focused on critical issues impacting our community and discussed why Black Americans should continue to support his candidacy amidst growing public concerns and calls for him to withdraw. Executive Produced by Jason Samuels, with Steven Ramey serving as Supervising Producer, this news special complements BET’s “We V.O.T.E.” campaign to increase civic engagement and voter participation within the Black community. The exclusive BET News interview special “Black America Votes: The Biden Interview,” will air Wednesday, July 17, at 10 PM ET/9 PM CT on BET. A transcript of the full special will be available the same day, Wednesday, July 17, after the show airs.
BROADCAST RESTRICTIONS
News programs and services may excerpt portions of the “Black America Votes: The Biden Interview,” telecast during the seven days following the broadcast premiere on July 17, 2024 solely for reporting about the “Black America Votes: The Biden Interview,” as an event and subject to the following conditions.
- Up to three minutes in total, but no more than thirty seconds, may be used within the period ending the first day following the telecast.
- Up to one minute in total, not separate from the three minutes referenced above, and no more than thirty seconds may be used within the period of the second through seventh days following the telecast.
- Any display or exhibition of the material must be accompanied by the chyron, “Courtesy of BET News”.
Online Restrictions:
- Otherwise, up to thirty seconds of any single moment may be used as part of the package through the seventh day following the telecast (For purposes of clarification, you may NOT use portions of the “Black America Votes: The Biden Interview” as standalone video assets).
- Any display, or exhibition of the material must be accompanied by the chyron, “Courtesy of BET News”, and a link to www.bet.com
