- Pavun Shetty
Pavun Shetty serves as Head of Television for Original Film. In this role since July 2015, Shetty oversees all television development and production under Original’s overall deal with Sony Television, which includes drama and comedy programming for both broadcast and cable. In addition to S.W.A.T., Shetty executive produces the upcoming 2018 graphic novel adaptation series “The Boys” for HBO/Cinemax and “Happy!” for Syfy.
Previously, Shetty was Senior Vice President of Comedy for Chernin Entertainment. In the position, he served as co-executive producer on the award-winning comedy series “New Girl” and also produced critical favorites “Ben and Kate” and the animated “Allen Gregory.” Additionally, he oversaw all current series, live-action and animated comedy development, and he produced numerous network and cable projects for 20th Century Fox.
Prior to joining Chernin, Shetty served as Vice President of Development and New Content for Broadway Video, where he managed the award-winning series “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock.” Also, he oversaw all aspects of new television development and production, and he contributed to film development through the Michaels-Goldwyn company at Paramount Studios.
Before his position with Broadway Video, Shetty was Manager of Drama Programming for NBC Entertainment, where he covered both development and current series, including the international co-productions “Crusoe,” “XIII,” “The Philanthropist,” and “Merlin.” Shetty began his tenure with NBC Entertainment in July 2006 as the Associate for Primetime Development, a position in which he played a key role on all drama development projects including the series pilots for “Life,” “Chuck,” “The Bionic Woman” and “Journeyman.”
A 2003 alumnus of the esteemed NBC Page Program in New York City, Shetty went on to serve as the assistant to “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels in 2004.
Shetty was raised in the suburbs of Chicago and currently resides in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he majored in marketing and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.
