One of the media industry’s top research and analytics experts, Radha Subramanyam oversees all research and analytics operations for CBS. She has extensive strategic and operational experience in all areas of the industry, including broadcast, cable, digital and streaming, as well as radio, music and social media. Her insights have allowed CBS to better target audiences wherever they are consuming the Network’s content.
She joined CBS as executive vice president of chief research and analytics officer in November 2017 and was promoted to her current role after 18 months.
Subramanyam has a proven track record leading teams covering a wide range of insights functions. As president of research, insights and data analytics at iHeartMedia, where she worked before joining CBS, she developed and managed efforts involving digital analytics, ratings and measurement, ad sales research, mobile measurement, programming analysis, music research, campaign measurement and marketing research.
Prior to iHeartMedia, Subramanyam held senior executive research roles at Yahoo!, MTV Networks and Nielsen. She also taught media and entertainment at Vassar College and New York University.
Subramanyam is recognized as an industry leader in consumer insights and research and a much sought-after speaker. She serves on the board of directors of the Center for Communication, the International Radio & Television Society and the Advertising Research Foundation. She is the recipient of many accolades including being named among the National Women’s Conference’s “Top Women in Business,” the Tri-State Diversity Council’s “Top Women Leaders of New York” and Corinium’s “Top Innovators in Data and Analytics.” In 2023 she was a distinguished recipient of the International Women’s Day Award at the Consulate General of India.
Subramanyam holds a PhD in Radio, Television and Film from Northwestern University.
