CBS and the Kraft Group hosted a grand opening extravaganza on Saturday (Sept. 6) to celebrate the CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar, a new one-of-a-kind entertainment and dining destination in Foxborough, Mass., adjacent to the New England Patriots' Gillette stadium. Among the nearly 600 guests were star New England Patriots players, their renowned head coach, professional football Hall of Famers, CBS Entertainment stars and CBS's THE NFL TODAY and NFL ON CBS Talent. Uninvited guest Tropical Storm Hanna arrived during the party but failed to dampen anyone's spirits as they enjoyed the gourmet cuisine, the breathtaking views of the stadium, the 3,200 square feet of iconic CBS photography and the engaging array of over 135 High Definition screens showcasing current and classic CBS programming.
From the third/top level of the restaurant's 60-foot spiral staircase, designed in the shape of CBS's trademark eye, Leslie Moonves, President and CEO of the CBS Corporation, Robert Kraft, Chairman and CEO of The Kraft Group, and Jonathan Kraft, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Kraft Group, officially opened the restaurant with a ceremonial click of three gigantic remote controls that turned on a bevy of projection screens in their midst. During this ceremony, Moonves and the Krafts were backed by the New England Patriots' Tom Brady, Tedy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison, Larry Izzo, Matt Light, Randy Moss, Richard Seymour, Mike Vrabel, Vince Wilfork, Professional Football Hall of Famers John Hannah and Andre Tippett, and CBS's James Brown (THE NFL TODAY), Julie Chen ("The Early Show," "Big Brother 10"), Bill Cowher (THE NFL TODAY), Dan Dierdorf (NFL ON CBS), Boomer Esiason (THE NFL TODAY), Greg Gumbel (NFL ON CBS), Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother"), Dan Marino (THE NFL TODAY), Jeff Probst ("Survivor: Gabon"), Emily Procter ("CSI: Miami") and Shannon Sharpe (THE NFL TODAY).
The party guests dined on the passed and buffet-style samplings of the seafood, steaks, entrée salads, pizzas and desserts from the American cuisine menu of CBS Scene Executive Chef Brian Corbley.
The NFL ON CBS and THE NFL TODAY talent enjoyed the event while preparing their game faces the night before they kicked off the 2008 NFL ON CBS Broadcast season. Belichick and the Patriots players briefly surveyed the CBS Scene festivities on the eve of their 17-10 opening day win over the Kansas City Chiefs, which Neil Patrick Harris, Jeff Probst and Emily Procter witnessed in-person from the stadium.
