STARRING WILL SMITH AND KEVIN KLINE, MAKES ITS NETWORK TELEVISION PREMIERE AS THE "CBS SUNDAY MOVIE," SUNDAY, JULY 6
ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
WILD WILD WEST, the 1999 western-comedy based on the hit CBS television series "Wild Wild West" starring Will Smith ("Men in Black") and Kevin Kline ("A Fish Called Wanda") as special federal agents who are assigned by President U.S. Grant to investigate the disappearance of lots of top scientists, has its network television premiere as the "CBS Sunday Movie," Sunday, July 6 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The time is post Civil War and the mission for West and Gordon is to thwart bitter, evil mastermind Dr. Arliss Loveless (Kenneth Branagh, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets") who has kidnapped the U.S.' top scientists. Joining this pair on the hunt is Rita Escobar (Salma Hayek, "Frida"), who wins the boys' sympathy by telling them her father is one of the kidnapped scientists.
Meanwhile, Dr. Loveless has forced his ill-gotten scientist slaves to create a hidden desert headquarters where he can carry out his plans to kidnap and kill President Grant, take over the United States and then divide the existing states between Mexico, England, and, of course, himself.
Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black") directed the film, which was written by S.S Wilson, Brent Maddock, Jeffrey Price, and Peter S. Seaman, based on the story by Jim Thomas and John Thomas. Tracy Glaser, Barry Josephson and Kim Le Masters are the executive producers, Jon Peters and Barry Sonnenfeld are the producers, Doug Lodato and Graham Place are the co-producers and Chris Soldo and Neri Kyle Tannenbaum is the associate producer.
