GRANT ALEKSANDER
(Phillip Spaulding in GUIDING LIGHT)
Grant Aleksander joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in December 1982 and has been playing the role of Phillip Spaulding on and off since then. In 2003 and 2004, he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. In 1998, he and costar Beth Ehlers received the Soap Opera Award from Soap Opera Digest as Best New Couple. During his hiatus from GUIDING LIGHT, he played Alec McIntyre in "All My Children," appeared in the daytime drama "Capitol," on CBS, and made guest appearances in such primetime series as "Hardcastle and McCormick," "Who's the Boss?" and "The Fall Guy." Aleksander was featured in the television film "Dark Mansions" and has appeared on stage in his native Baltimore in "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." He and his wife live in New Jersey and spend much of their free time working with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. His birth date is Aug. 6.

GEORGE ALVAREZ
(Father Ray Santos in GUIDING LIGHT)
Prior to his debut on GUIDING LIGHT in August 1999, George Alvarez appeared in the daytime dramas "General Hospital" and, on CBS, "The Bold and the Beautiful." He has guest-starred in such primetime series as "NYPD Blue" and "Beverly Hills, 90210." He appeared in the films "The Pizza Connection," "Suicide" and "The Art of Dying," and in the plays "A Burning Beach," "La Puta Vida" and "Cracow." Alvarez is currently directing his first film, an independent production, from his own screenplay. He received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Parsons School of Design. Born in Cuba, he lives with his family in New Jersey. His birth date is Jan. 25.

Scott Bailey made his debut in GUIDING LIGHT in August 2003. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from New Mexico State University, he worked as a mechanical engineer for the Department of Energy. While working toward a doctorate at UCLA, Bailey interrupted his studies to pursue acting. On television, he has appeared in the series "Walker, Texas Ranger," on CBS, "Chicken Soup for the Soul," "MTV's Undressed" and the movie "Just Ask My Children." Bailey was born in Florissant, Mo. and lives in New York. His birth date is Dec. 16.

KIM BROCKINGTON
(Felicia Boudreau in GUIDING LIGHT)
Kim Brockington made her debut in GUIDING LIGHT in April 2002. Before joining GUIDING LIGHT, she appeared in "Law & Order," "The West Wing" and "Third Watch" and the daytime drama "All My Children." In 2004, she will be seen in the title role of the PBS docudrama "Zora," portraying the novelist whom she played in "Zora Neale Hurston" at the American Place Theater. Brockington has also appeared in productions at the Kennedy Center and the AFI Theaters, including "From the Mississippi Delta," "Thunder knocking on the Door," "The American Play" and "In Walks Ed." She has appeared on the New York stage in "Holiday Heart," "In White America" and "Coming Apart Together." Her feature film credits include "Love Songs" and "Dirty Laundry." Mandy Bruno assumed the role of Marina Cooper on GUIDING LIGHT in May 2004. She has appeared in regional productions of "Anne of Green Gables," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Tommy" and "The Secret Garden." She was born and raised in Beaverton, Ore. Her birth date is Sept. 20.

Beth Chamberlin returned to the role of Beth Raines in GUIDING LIGHT in November 1997, having previously portrayed the character from 1989 to 1991. She has starred in the films "The Right Way" and "Best Shots" and has had guest-starring roles in the television series "Columbo," "Silk Stalkings" and "Days of Our Lives." She has also appeared in regional productions of "The Taming of the Shrew," "Godspell," "Flowers for Algernon" and "You Can't Take It with You." Chamberlin studied with the American Ballet Theater and attended New York University as a dance and theater major. She and her husband live in New York. Her birth date is Oct. 1.

Winner of the 2002 Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actress, Crystal Chappell joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in July 1999. She has guest-starred in various primetime series, including "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Burke's Law" and "Diagnosis Murder," all on CBS. She also starred in the feature films "Lady in Waiting" and "Bigfoot: The Unforgettable Encounter." Chappell was graduated from the University of South Carolina, where she studied journalism, before moving to New York to pursue an acting career. Jordan Clarke joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in 1982. He has appeared on television in the primetime series "MAS*H," on CBS, "Three's Company," "Knight Rider," "The Tony Randall Show," "Fantasy Island" and "Law & Order," the mini-series "The Executioner's Song" and "Testimony of Two Men" and the movies "Charleston" and "Forever." He has been active in regional theater with the Ithaca Repertory Theatre, the Olney Theatre and the Long Wharf Theatre. He was a co-founder of the Off Broadway Shaliko Public Theatre, where he appeared in "Shadow of a Gunman" and "Children of the Gods." Bradley Cole returned to the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in May 2003, taking on the new role of District Attorney Jeffrey O'Neill. Previously, Cole was known to viewers of GUIDING LIGHT as the charismatic Prince Richard Winslow, a role that earned him a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination in 2000 for Best New Character. Cole attended Pepperdine University, where he played baseball until an injury put an end to his dreams of playing professionally. He then turned to a career in acting. A veteran of both films and television in Europe, Cole has appeared in the European serial drama "Riviera." His film credits include the made-for-television movies "Jewels" and "The Sun Also Rises" and the feature films "Sweet Revenge," "Touch and Die" and "5 Days in June." His theater credits include "Killer Joe" at the Frankfurt English Theater and "Lone Star" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" at Gallerie 55, the Paris English Theater. Daniel Cosgrove joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in June 2002 in the role of Bill Lewis. He has appeared in the daytime drama "All My Children" and the primetime series "Beverly Hills, 90210," as well as the television movies "When the Music Stops" and "Satan's School for Girls." His feature film credits include "Valentine," "Object of My Affection" and "Van Wilder: Party Liaison." Justin Deas joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in January 1993. In 1997, he won his record-setting sixth Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor. His television credits also include the primetime series "Foley Square," on CBS, and two daytime dramas, "Santa Barbara," which earned him two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor, and on CBS, "As the World Turns," which earned him a Daytime Emmy Award in 1985 as Outstanding Lead Actor. He also appeared in the feature film "Dream Lover." As a member of the Asolo Repertory Company, Deas has appeared in numerous regional-theater productions throughout the country. He has also starred in several Shakespeare productions, including "Romeo and Juliet" at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, and he starred in an Off Broadway production of "Fool for Love." Deas studied theater at Juilliard and earned a B.A. degree in theater arts from the College of William and Mary. He is married to actress Margaret Colin, and they live in his native New York. Frank Dicopoulos joined GUIDING LIGHT in September 1987. His television credits include the primetime series "Falcon Crest," on CBS, "The Tracey Ullman Show," "Silver Spoons," "Ohara," "Hotel" and "Dynasty" and the daytime dramas "The Young and the Restless" and "Capitol," both on the Network, as well as "General Hospital." Dicopoulos is an active spokesperson for the Melanoma Initiative, an organization that seeks to heighten public awareness of the dangers of melanoma. He is a graduate of Kenyon College. Dicopoulos was born in Akron, Ohio, and he lives in New York with his wife and their two children. His birth date is Jan. 3.

Marj Dusay rejoined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in December 2002 in the role of Alexandra Spaulding, which she had previously portrayed from September 1993 to March 1997, receiving a 1995 Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actress. Dusay was a member of the groundbreaking improvisational comedy group the Session with Richard Dreyfuss and Rob Reiner. She performed on "The Steve Allen Summer Comedy Show" and appeared with the group on "The Johnny Carson Show" and other talk programs. Dusay had leading roles in the daytime dramas "Santa Barbara" (1987-1988) and, on CBS, "Capitol" (1983-1986), as well as in the primetime series "Sons and Daughters," on the Network, "Studio 5B" (with GUIDING LIGHT costar Justin Deas), "The Facts of Life," "Bret Maverick" and "Cliffhangers." She also starred in the mini-series "Daughters of Privilege," "Wheels" and "Fire in the Sky" and in the feature films "MacArthur," "Breezy," "Made in Heaven," "Sweet November," "Love walked in" and "Peace in the Family," among others. The recipient of four Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including one as Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2002, Beth Ehlers initially joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in September 1987, left in 1993 and rejoined in May 1997. She and Grant Aleksander received an award from Soap Opera Digest in 1998 as Best New Couple. During her hiatus from the show, Ehlers worked in Los Angeles as a production assistant on commercials and music videos. Her film credits include "The Hunger" and "Hiding Out." Maureen Garrett has received three Daytime Emmy nominations as Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role on GUIDING LIGHT. She rejoined the daytime drama in March 1989, reprising the role of Holly, which she had played from 1976 to 1981. She has also appeared in the daytime drama "Ryan's Hope" and has worked extensively in regional theater and appeared in numerous repertory and stock productions. Ricky Paull Goldin received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2003 for his performance in GUIDING LIGHT. He appeared in the daytime series "Another World" and, on CBS, "The Young and the Restless" before joining the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in March 2001. Goldin was the host and executive producer of the dating-game show "Street Match." His other television credits include "Kate & Allie," on CBS, "V.I.P.," "21 Jump Street," "MacGyver," "ALF," "Hail to the Chief," "She's Leaving Home," "Talk to Me" and "The Face." Gavin Alexander Houston made his debut in GUIDING LIGHT in April 2002. As an adolescent, he appeared in "The Cosby Show" and in numerous television and print advertisements. He earned a bachelor of fine arts degree at the University of Florida, where he won the title of Mr. University of Florida 2000. He performed in many of his school's theatrical productions, including "The Balcony Scene," "The Game," "Richard III," "History of the Devil," "Joe Turner's Come and Gone" and "To Be Young, Gifted and Black." His theater credits include a New York Theatre Workshop production of "A Streetcar Named Desire," and a Manhattan Theatre Company production of "Three Soldiers and An Angel." Klosky can currently be seen every weekend at New York's El Flamingo, where he stars in "The Karaoke Show," a comedy that melds characters from Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors" with present-day karaoke culture. David Andrew Macdonald joined GUIDING LIGHT in June 1999. His other television credits include the series "Sex and the City" and "Law & Order" and the movies "The Deception," on CBS, and "Paramour." He has also appeared in the daytime dramas "Loving" and "One Life to Live." On stage, Macdonald starred in the Broadway production of "Two Shakespearean Actors" and appeared in the national tour of "An Inspector Calls" and numerous regional-theater productions, including "The Green Heart," "Night and Her Stars," "I Hate Hamlet," "A Christmas Carol," "The Importance of Being Earnest," "The Comedy of Errors," "Henry IV, Part One," "Arms and the Man," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," "Titus Andronicus," "Love's Labour's Lost" and "Othello." Stephen Martines joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in October 2003. He is best known for his portrayal of Nikolas Cassadine in the daytime drama "General Hospital." Formerly known as Coltin Scott, Martines made the decision to change his name back in honor of his father's memory. He hoped to be a professional soccer player, but a knee injury led him to become an actor. When not performing, Martines works on his musical career. His birth date is July 23.

Robert Newman was nominated in 2002 and 2004 for a Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor for his portrayal of Josh Lewis in GUIDING LIGHT, a role he originated in October 1981 and has played for most of the time since then. He has also appeared in "General Hospital" and "Santa Barbara" and was featured in the television pilot "Destination America." Michael O'Leary returned to GUIDING LIGHT in March 1995 for his third stint as Dr. Rick Bauer. He had previously played the role from 1983 to 1986 and from 1987 to 1991. Ron Raines, who is known to theater audiences around the country, joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in July 1994. His extensive stage credits include "Chicago," "Show Boat" and "Teddy and Alice" on Broadway and the national touring companies of "Colette" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (with Debbie Reynolds). Tina Sloan joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in May 1983, originating the role of nurse Lillian Raines. Paul Anthony Stewart, who made his GUIDING LIGHT debut in November 1998, received a 2003 Daytime Emmy nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actor. He had starring roles in the television movie "The Inheritance," on CBS, and the daytime drama "Loving" and guest-starred in the series "The Hunger," "Dream On" and "First Time Out." His feature film credits include Woody Allen's "Shadows and Fog" and the independent feature "Somewhere in the City." Among his theater credits are "Cyrano" on Broadway and the Off Broadway productions of "White Water," "Risorgimento," "Children of Eden," "Until Day Breaks," "Playing with Fire" and "Rivalry of Dolls." Gina Tognoni assumed the role of Dinah Marler in July 2004. The character was last seen leaving Springfield after the shooting of Hart Jessup in 1998. Tognoni previously played the role of Kelly Cramer for six years in "One Life to Live," for which role Soap Opera Digest and Daytime TV Magazine named her Best Younger Actress in 1996 and 1997. Her other television credits include "This Time Around," "Fastlane," and "Phenomenon." Tognoni was discovered while participating in the Miss Teen USA pageant. She was born in St. Louis. Jerry verDorn joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in March 1979, playing attorney Ross Marler, a role for which he has been nominated five times for a Daytime Emmy Award. He won the Best Supporting Actor award in 1995 and 1996. His first big break was in a Rutgers University production of "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been?," which moved to the Off Broadway Promenade Theater and eventually reached Broadway. At the same time, he played the lead in matinee performances of Shaw's "Man and Superman" at Circle in the Square. VerDorn was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., and grew up in various parts of North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. He attended Moorhead State University in Minnesota and spent a year studying at London's Studio 68, an acting academy founded by Sean Connery. VerDorn lives in New Jersey with his wife and their two sons. His birth date is Nov. 23.

Marty West joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in February 2003 in the role of Shayne Lewis. Laura Wright, who joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in June 1997, was awarded a 1998 Soap Opera Award from Soap Opera Digest as Outstanding Newcomer. She had previously starred in the daytime drama "Loving" for four years, and played the same character on its spin off, "The City." In high school, Wright performed in productions of "Gypsy," "Our Town" and "You Can't Take It with You" and directed "Father Says No." She also appeared in local commercials. She was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Clinton, Md. Wright lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and two children. Her birth date is Sept. 11.

Yvonna Wright joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in September 2001. At the age of 18, she entered a Seventeen magazine modeling contest which led to her representation by the Wilhelmina Agency in New York. She later completed two years at the University of California at Berkeley. Wright has appeared in the daytime drama "Days of Our Lives" and the primetime series "Cosby" and "Nash Bridges," both on CBS. Her feature film credits include "Anywhere but Here" and "The Hardest Part." She has appeared on stage in productions of "Five AM," "Dreamgirls" and "Working." Wright was born in California and lives in New York with her husband, Brett and their daughters, Lola and Marley. Her birth date is Jan. 8.

Kim Zimmer joined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in November 1983 in the role of Reva, for which she has won three Daytime Emmy Awards (1985, 1987, 1990) and a Soap Opera Award from Soap Opera Digest. She has also received three other Daytime Emmy nominations as Outstanding Lead Actress, most recently in 2003. She left GUIDING LIGHT in 1990 and returned in 1995. Zimmer has also appeared in the daytime dramas "One Life to Live," "Santa Barbara" and "The Doctors." She had a recurring role in "Models, Inc." and guest-starring roles in "Seinfeld" and "University Hospital" and was featured in the television movies "Hell Hath No Fury" and, on CBS, "The Disappearance of Vonnie." Zimmer was born in Grand Rapids, Mich. She and her husband, actor-director A. C. Weary, have three children and live in New Jersey. Her birth date is Feb. 2.
