CBS dominated the week in viewers and key demographics as the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (New England vs. Pittsburgh) delivered 44.3 million viewers making it the most watched broadcast of the season and the debut of the new drama NUMB3RS was the most watched opening episode of any new program this season with 24.92 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings for the week ending Jan. 23, week 18 of the 2004-2005 season.
For the week in viewers, CBS (16.31m) led FOX (11.95m), NBC (10.75m) and, ABC (10.01m). Season-to-date, CBS (13.06m) is ahead of ABC (10.50m), NBC (10.07m) and FOX (8.79m).
For the week in households, CBS (10.3/16) had a +45% lead over NBC (7.1/11), +47% ahead of ABC (7.0/11) and +61% over ABC (6.4/10). Season-to-date, CBS (8.5/14) has a + 27% advantage over both NBC and ABC (6.7/11, each) and +55% over FOX (5.5/09).

? For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (6.6/15), adults 18-49 (5.6/14), women 25-54 (6.4/14) and men 25-54 (6.8/16). Compared to the same week last year (when CBS did not have a primetime football game), CBS was up +41% in households, +65% in adults 25-54, +42% in women 25-54, +94% in men 25-54, +81% in adults 18-49 and +100% in adults 18-34 (4.2/12 from 2.1/6).

? Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (5.0/12) with a +0.5 lead over second place ABC (4.5/11) and first in adults 18-49 (4.1/11), +0.2 ahead of ABC (3.9/11). This time last year, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (+0.1 ahead of NBC). In adults 18-49 this time last year, CBS was third, trailing NBC by -0.4 and FOX by -0.1. From 7:00-11:00pm, CBS posted the network's best Sunday ratings in households, viewers and key demos since February 1, 2004, Super Bowl Sunday.
