Cat Gray’s s musical experience started at age 12 with his first drum kit and led to positions in The California All-Star Youth Symphony and the McDonald’s All-American All-Star Marching Band. Cat has toured or recorded with some of the biggest names in music, including James Brown, Prince, Sheila E, Stevie Nicks, Earth, Wind & Fire, Maurice White, Ringo Starr, Sly Stone, Roberta Flack, Rick James, George Clinton, and Zakir Hussein.

 

Additionally, he has performed live / special television performances with Heart, Stevie Wonder, Aaron Copland, Donna Summer, Michael McDonald, Jessica Simpson, Take 6, Chaka Khan, Smokey Robinson, Paul Anka, Solomon Burke, Jane Child, Sheila E, Glen Campbell, Joe

Cocker, Wayne Newton, Debbie Reynolds, Barry Manilow, Cyndi Lauper, The Four Tops, Mary J. Blige, The Whispers, Tim McGraw, Isaac Hayes, RuPaul, George Duke, Donny Osmond, Dionne Warwick, Lionel Richie, Whitney Houston, Kenny G, Blake Shelton, The Doobie Brothers, Faith Evans, Jimmie Allen, El DeBarge, Bo Diddley and The Muppets, to name just a few.

 

His television credits include providing music for Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, Dr. Phil, The Doctors, Racheal Ray, The Wayne Brady Show, and Monday Night Football, among many others.  Cat has toured and performed live in improvisational music/comedy shows with Wayne and Jonathan for many years.

 

Gray has also remixed numerous rap singles for artists ranging from Bizzy Bone to The Nappy Roots, recorded the in-house hype music for The Portland Trailblazers, and played on many top-selling video games like Tour Of Duty, and provided countless forensic re-records

for the Just Dance series.

 

Cat Gray possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of all styles of recorded music with particular emphasis on big band swing, funk,traditional country & bluegrass, Indian, and early 20th century impressionist classical.

 

A native of Northern California, Cat has lived in Los Angeles since 1984.
