Gina Lucita Monreal began her career writing, acting and directing in the Chicago theater community. Her play “Jack-in-the-Box” was produced at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and she co-founded the award-winning Infamous Commonwealth Theatre. After earning her MFA in USC’s Writing for Screen & Television Program, Monreal participated in the CBS Writers’ Mentoring Program, the NHMC Writers Program, NBC’s Writers on the Verge and the Disney/ABC Writing Fellowship. She began her television writing career on “Brothers & Sisters” and subsequently wrote for ten seasons on the #1-rated drama NCIS. Since then, her credits include “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” “Griselda” and the upcoming drama “Paradise” starring Sterling K. Brown.
