Mark Burnett

Mark Burnett is a television and film producer, author, and chairman of MGM Television. He has garnered 12 Emmy Awards, five Producers Guild of America Awards, seven Critics’ Choice Television Awards and six People’s Choice Awards.

Burnett has produced more than 3,200 hours of television programming, which regularly airs in more than 70 countries worldwide. Currently, the company Burnett leads has five network television shows, five cable shows and a streaming series in production, including THE WORLD’S BEST and SURVIVOR, on the Network, “The Voice,” “Shark Tank,” “Beat Shazam” with Jamie Foxx, “Fargo,” “Vikings,” “Teen Wolf,” “Signed,” “Lucha Underground” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which won the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.

Additionally, Burnett and his wife, Roma Downey, produced the series “The Bible,” which was viewed by more than 100 million people in the U.S. alone. Their additional joint TV credits include “The Dovekeepers,” on the Network, “The Women of the Bible,” “A.D. The Bible Continues,” and “Answered Prayers.” Also, Burnett and Downey produced the feature film “Son of God,” one of the highest-grossing faith-based movie openings of all time, and were executive producers on the feature films “Little Boy,” “Woodlawn” and “Ben-Hur.”

Burnett is one of very few producers to have had a renewed series on each of the four major broadcast networks and to have multiple series win their time slots on five nights of television in the same week. Burnett has been named to the TIME 100 and The Hollywood Reporter’s Reality TV Power List: The 30 Most Powerful Sellers, where he ranked #1. Also, he has won Brandweek’s Marketer of the Year Award, the Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award, the Producers Guild of America’s Norman Lear Award, and the Rose d’Or FRAPA Format Award. Burnett was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009 and inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in 2010.
