New York, NY - February 13, 2007 - Inside Edition conducted an exclusive on-camera interview with Bonnie Stern, the older sister of Howard K. Stern, who talks about the controversy surrounding the former companion of Anna Nicole Smith.
Following is a transcript of this exclusive interview as broadcast on today's edition of INSIDE EDITION. Credit must be given to INSIDE EDITION.
Stern: "My brother is not a killer...He loved her...he's still in love."
Stern: "Howard was not the puppet master, Anna was a strong woman... Anna did what Anna wanted to do."
Stern told INSIDE EDITION she was in the Bahamas taking care of Dannielynn when Howard first arrived.
Stern: "He couldn't wait to see her ... He was crying... He told her that her mother was dead and that he would take care of her."
Stern, who believes Smith was sick with pneumonia, confirms reports that Smith was given an ice bath in an attempt to cool her 105 degree temperature.
Stern refuted claims of Anna's drug use and believes the recently surfaced pictures of the methadone in the refrigerator were staged saying, "I feel like it was a set up."
Stern also told INSIDE EDITION why Howard has refused to take a DNA test.
Stern: "Because Howard does not want to give into Larry Birkhead, if he has to take a DNA test he will."
