DREW PETERSON SPEAKS TO DR. PHIL
Hollywood, CA - December 6, 2007 - Former suburban Chicago police officer Drew Peterson, a suspect in the disappearance of his wife Stacy, admitted in a phone conversation with Dr. Phil McGraw, that if he were investigating the case, Peterson would consider himself a suspect.
Dr. Phil revealed at a recent show taping discussing spousal abuse that he asked Peterson, "‘As a law enforcement officer, you have to admit that if this wasn't you and you were investigating it, you'd look like a really good suspect.' He thought for a long time and he said, ‘Well, you know what, I guess I really do look like a good suspect. If I was investigating this, I think I would be looking at me as well.'"
Peterson declined a DR. PHIL producer's request to appear on the show, but spoke preliminarily to Dr. Phil by phone. Also appearing on the broadcast are Court TV anchor and commentator Lisa Bloom and Kyle Piry who was at one time engaged to Peterson.
The former police sergeant has gone from a person of interest to a suspect since his wife's disappeared on October 28. During that period, police have also re-opened the investigation into the death of Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, which was deemed accidental at the time, but may have been a homicide staged to look that way.
This episode of DR. PHIL airs Friday, December 7 (check local listings for time and channel).
