New York, NY - May 12, 2008 - Kellie Pickler's estranged mother, Cynthia Malone, speaks exclusively with INSIDE EDITION about her superstar daughter.
Malone, who bears a haunting resemblance to her famous daughter, gave Pickler to her grandparents to raise her when she was two-years-old. The country music star claims her mother abandoned her as a child and even went on to write a hit song about the heartbreaking ordeal called "I wonder."
Malone, who now resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, speaks with INSIDE EDITION about her decision to give up her daughter.
"I was a teenager raising a baby," Malone says.
Malone, who tears up when she sees Pickler perform "I wonder," tells INSIDE EDITION she is so proud of her daughter and her music.
"I just wish I could dry all her tears and never see another one come out of her eyes...I love her and am proud of her," says Malone.
Malone also tells INSIDE EDITION she would like to reunite with her daughter.
"I love my daughter with my whole heart and I just want to wrap my arms around her," Malone continues, "If or when she is ready, my door is always open."
INSIDE EDITION also spoke with Kellie Pickler who says a reunion with her mother is not a priority right now.
"My grandmother was my mother and when she passed away we buried my mother as well...Anyone can give birth to a child, but not anyone can be a mother to a child, and my grandmother was my mother," says Pickler.
INSIDE EDITION is produced daily at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City and produced and distributed by CBS Television Distribution, a unit of CBS Corp.
