New York, NY - October 16th, 2008 - INSIDE EDITION uncovers information about Joe Wurzelbacher from Toledo, Ohio, better known as ‘Joe the Plumber', who received national attention during last night's debate between Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama.
Wurzelbacher, who was mentioned 26 times during the presidential debate, is actually named Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, but he goes by his middle name, Joe.
Wurzelbacher is a 34-year-old tradesman who has worked 12-hour shifts, but now would like to purchase the company that employs him.
INSIDE EDITION obtained public records showing he's had two liens - one was released and one remains outstanding for more than $1,182, indicating he owes money to the state.
Wurzelbacher has been married twice and is a single father to 13-year-old son Joey.
INSIDE EDITION is produced daily at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City and produced and distributed by CBS Television Distribution, a unit of CBS Corp.
