BILL O'REILLY SPEAKS OUT ON ROSIE O'DONNELL, HIS RECENT APPEARANCE ON "THE VIEW" AND SUPPORTING HIS CHILDREN IF THEY WANTED TO MARRY A MUSLIM
October 27, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA) - THE INSIDER's CHRIS JACOBS sat down exclusively with Bill O'Reilly this week in New York City for a new interview to air tomorrow, Thursday, October 28th.
Bill sets the record straight about his recent, now infamous, appearance on "The View," telling THE INSIDER he would change the way he handled his heated discussions with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, "I probably should not have said to Ms. Goldberg and Ms. Behar, 'Listen and learn something.' That was probably a little too much, but when you're on the high wire that happens sometimes. You do this for fourteen years, you make mistakes and you handle things not as well as you should. If I had to do anything again, I would not have said that."
He goes on to say that he had no intention of making waves, "I have nothing against those ladies, nothing personal. I just wanted to sell the book, I went out there to promote 'Pinheads and Patriots' and that was it. I didn't want to rile anybody up, but I'm going to be myself. I'm going to answer the question. You ask me a question, I'm going to answer it."
Would he return to "The View" as a future guest? "I've been friends with Barbara Walters for a long time and she's a very nice lady and if she wanted me to come back, I would go," he says.
When asked about his acceptance of Muslims, Bill tells THE INSIDER that he would support one of his own children if they chose to marry someone of Muslim faith, "I [would be] fine with that. I respect all
religions that promote peace and promote brotherhood. I believe that the Muslim religion, Islam, does that, in its most benign portion."
Bill also responds to Rosie O'Donnell's recent comment of, "What does [Bill O'Reilly] do besides incite hatred?" He states, "If the only thing I do is incite hatred, how come [Rosie and I] both got legislation passed in some states to allow gay Americans to adopt? Ms. O'Donnell is a victim of her own hysteria. She gets hysterical. I think when she calms down, she understands that what she says is hooey."
