“I’m The Most Famous Wife in Sports History Since Marilyn Monroe,” Proclaimed Benson

(Los Angeles, CA – November 25, 2013) – Anna Benson, wife of former major league pitcher Kris Benson, will give her first interview since pleading guilty to aggravated assault and weapons charges involving her husband, this Wednesday, November 27, 2013 on DR. PHIL (check your local listings).  

Benson was arrested in July following a bizarre incident at the home of her estranged husband where she broke into his house wearing a bulletproof vest, an ammunition belt and armed to the teeth.  She had in her possession that day a gun, knives, metal batons and a hatchet.  This former magazine cover girl and pin-up model will reveal to Dr. Phil where she was intending to go that day and why she was carrying such an array of weapons.  

“Anna believes today that she had just as much right to do what she did as the day she was arrested,” says Dr. Phil.  

Benson, who spent four months in jail from the time of her arrest until her plea deal, also reveals to Dr. Phil who she believes had been trying to harm her and the measures she says she took to protect herself.  In addition, she talks about her feelings toward her soon-to-be ex-husband Kris, which range from still being in love, to wanting to inflict bodily harm on the man she has been married to for 14 years.   

Dr. Phil will take viewers inside the mind of the beautiful but troubled woman who has made more headlines for her actions off the field than Kris Benson did on the field during his nine-year major league career.  One of her most outrageous statements came during the time Kris Benson played for the New York Mets and Anna said she’d sleep with the entire Mets team if she ever caught her husband cheating.  Benson also starred in the short-lived VH1 reality series “Baseball Wives.”
