Dr. Phil Also Talks with Caffey’s Father, the Lone Survivor of the Brutal Attack

(Los Angeles, CA – January 31, 2014) – Convicted murderer Erin Caffey, who conspired with her boyfriend and two accomplices to murder her entire family, speaks out for the first time in a one-on-one interview with Dr. Phil.  This two-part episode will air Monday, February 3, 2014 and Tuesday, February 4, 2014 (check local listings).

In this gripping interview, 21-year-old Erin speaks out about what happened that night. Did she really want her family dead or, was she the victim of puppy love gone terribly wrong?  Dr. Phil attempts to uncover the real truth from Erin.   Erin’s father, Terry, also tells Dr. Phil his side of the horrific ordeal; how he survived that night despite being shot several times and why he says he has forgiven his daughter.    

Dr. Phil interviews Erin at the Gatesville, TX, Hilltop Unit correctional facility where she is serving two life sentences plus 25 years for the brutal murder of her mother and two younger brothers.  During the early hours of March 2, 2008, Erin’s boyfriend and another intruder entered the Caffey’s home located in the small Texas town east of Dallas.   When inside, the two shot and stabbed Erin’s mother, Penny, and brothers, Matthew, 13, and Tyler, 8, to death before setting the house on fire.  

“What I want to find out is if Terry has forgiven Erin for what she said she did or what she really did,” said Dr. Phil.
