ET EXCLUSIVE | PAUL WALKER’S FATHER OPENS UP ABOUT HIS SON’S DEATH NEARLY ONE YEAR LATER

“I'm not looking forward to Thanksgiving.”

November 17, 2014 (Los Angeles, CA) - ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT’s Nancy O’Dell sat down exclusively with the late actor Paul Walker’s father, Paul Walker III, in which he opens up about the tragic death of his son last year. The interview was done on the ET set where Walker III shared home movies and personal photographs. While discussing the day his son was killed, he recalls the moment when he first heard the news revealing, “I was on my motorcycle at a friend's house. I kept getting calls…it was my brother…Finally, I had a low rear tire and I pulled [over]…I call and my brother says, ‘Paul has been killed.’  I'm thinking, somebody's got it wrong. He says you need to get over to the house…My feet wouldn't move.  There was this young guy next to me…and I said ‘Buddy would you do me a favor and put air in my rear tire? I can't do it…I just heard my son was killed’ and he looked at me and just reached out and gave me a big hug and said I'm so sorry.”  Walker lll says that he still visits the crash site where his son died stating, “I like to read the little notes that people leave…You ought to see the beautiful sentiments people leave there.”

Walker III goes on to discuss the upcoming one-year anniversary of his son’s death stating, “I'm not looking forward to Thanksgiving. He died two days after that and I guess it'll probably be that way until I'm with him.”

When asked if he has spoken to his son’s 16-year-old daughter Meadow, Walker lll says, “We don't talk enough...The family is in shock…I think that we're afraid to talk to each other…We've kind of disconnected and…the only thing I can think of is that it hurts too much…I can't tell you how many times, [Meadow is] all [Paul] talked about…he just would say…‘Dad, you don't realize how amazing she is.’”

Walker passed away November 30, 2013 from a single-car crash in Valencia, CA.

ET’s emotional multi-part series begins today, November 17th.
