New York, NY — August 18, 2016 – INSIDE EDITION has obtained photos of 23-year-old Denis Dyson Cullen, the man who police say drowned his mother, 63-year-old Elizabeth Cullen, in the family swimming pool.

 

Cullen allegedly put his mother in a headlock and dragged her from the shower to the pool in the family’s multimillion dollar estate in Cold Spring Harbor in Long Island, N.Y., and held her under the water. Police say he then drove to New York and confessed everything to his sister.

 

Photos show the accused killer in earlier years and the Cullen family during happier times, including a photo of Elizabeth vacationing on the Amalfi Coast.

 

A family source tells INSIDE EDITION that Elizabeth and her husband, who is also named Denis and a wealthy investment banker, had three daughters and was overjoyed when she finally had a son. One photo shows the three Cullen daughters with their brother during childhood years. 

 

Cullen has a history of mental problems. Prosecutor Robert Biancavilla said he fought with his mom because he stopped taking his medication.

 

Cullen pled not guilty when he was arraigned and ordered held on $5 million bail.
