New York, NY — April 27, 2017 – In a two-part exclusive airing on Thursday and Friday, INSIDE EDITION’s Diane McInerney speaks with Jill Cummins, who is talking publicly for the first time since her husband, Tad Cummins, was arrested for allegedly kidnapping his teen-aged student - Elizabeth Thomas. Cummins was captured hiding out with 15-year-old Elizabeth in a cabin in a remote area of Northern California after a five-week nationwide hunt.

An emotional Jill reveals that she has spoken with Tad since his arrest. “Tad called me from jail a few days ago,” she says. “It was very hard to hear his voice after all this time, not knowing if I was going to hear it again. But he told me he was sorry. He told me he loved me and to please forgive him.”

She continues, “He kept saying, ‘I love you,’ and I said, ‘I’m sorry, but I’m not going to say that back.’ I, of course, went into a rage, ‘Do you know what you’ve done to me? Do you know what you’ve done to your girls and your grandchildren?’ He pretty much just over and over said, ‘I’m sorry.’”

Jill tells INSIDE EDITION that she confronted her husband about allegations that he filled a prescription for Cialis and rented a hotel room with a queen size bed with Elizabeth. “I said, ‘Well, did you sleep with her?’ And he said, ‘Yes, I did.’ And I didn’t want any details but I knew the truth. I just wanted to hear it from him to me,” Jill says.

Jill, who has filed for divorce from Cummins, says that he continues to call her from jail. “He has called me many times. I just don’t answer the phone,” she says. But Jill is adamant that she won’t take her husband back. “I won’t let him hurt me like that again. I will not let him betray me like that again. I won’t give him the opportunity, ever again,” she says.
