Drew: What was Anthony like as a little boy?
Doris: Mischievous, smart. He was so smart.
Anthony: Was or still is?
Doris: Well he still is. He was really smart…His teacher said he was gifted and talented. Yeah he went from 9th grade to Cal State LA.
Drew: Wait. I didn’t know that you went from 9th grade to college?
Anthony: My high school was on a college campus is what my mama is trying to say. I did, I was in a lot of AP classes and got to spend my high school years on a college campus with college students studying.
Doris: He got college credits too.
Anthony: Yes I did mama.

Drew: I watched the documentary….it’s so powerful….I was with all the same people and in the same scenes at the exact same time.
Soleil: …Of course we were little together and then we grew up in this wild world right?
Drew: I mean the first time when I ran away when I was, I don’t know six or seven, I ran to your brother’s house, Sean who was in ET.
Soleil: I remember that, I remember you telling me that story.
Drew: I was like, ‘Hi, I ran away to your house.’ And he was like, ‘Okay, come in.’ And then my mom came walking through the door an hour later and I was like, ‘Sean you backstabber.’
Soleil on Realizing How Many of Her Friends Were in Pain After Watching Videos in Her Documentary
https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/F2l9nQWmwrWJ
Drew: So many of the people that have been lost and are no longer with us are also in the documentary like Rodney Harvey.
Soleil: And then of course friends like Jonathan Brandis, who was such a big part of my life, and then passed away so young and Justin Pierce. Just all of these amazing people that were such an important pivotal part of my life.
Drew: Yeah, the documentary really shows the journey of where these people were at before they were taken away from us. People do not have that window like you have so it’s really extraordinary to be a fly on the wall and see these people but that you do it without frivolity. You did it with a very thought-provoking writer/director’s lens of asking yourself, ‘Are we aware of what are friends are going through?’
Soleil: I agree 1,000 percent and the realization watching these videos back. You know I remembered our lives being so full of life and love and joy and then I lost some of my best friends so early on and so I always wondered if things had happened the way I remembered them and I think it was almost a subconscious thing that I locked it all in a vault and didn’t open it for decades. And then, I watched the tapes back and realizing how many of us were going through different stages of pain and not seeing it. And something that really rings so true to me is that there was an authentic love between us, that we really did have these very deep relationships and I think that was one of the reasons that the losses were felt so deeply because these weren’t superficial relationships.
Drew Reveals She Once Went on A Date with Eric Everlast & He Played His New Demo Jump Around for Her

Drew: Here’s a weird one your boyfriend from House of Pain, I remember going out on a date with Eric Everlast and he put a cassette tape in my car and played the song that was their new single and it was Jump Around…Eric and I went on one date and one date only, but I remember him playing this demo tape for me and I was like, ‘This song is going to be an anthem.’
Drew & Soleil on Just Say No to Drugs Campaign

Drew: I really did live such a parallel life to yours and we were at White House at the same time probably doing Just Say No campaigns.
Soleil: Totally, completely and by the way for the record I did the Just Say No to Drugs campaign, it was before I was partying. Everyone is like, ‘Were you partying in the back?’ No, it was a few years later.
Drew: I had partied, was not partying and then went back to partying. But we were kicking it with the Reagans at the White House.
Soleil: Yes, completely, I remember my mom losing me and then finding me hanging out in the Oval Office with my legs up, that did not come out right, I had my feet up, and I was eating like fried chicken because my mom couldn’t find me.
