INSIDE EDITION EXCLUSIVE: BAYWATCH BABES WEIGHT GAIN; NICOLE EGGERT SPEAKS OUT
To be broadcast Friday, October 30, 2009
New York, NY - October 30, 2009 - For three seasons Nicole Eggert was one of the sexy lifeguards on Baywatch. But photographs of Eggert snapped this summer show that she's gained a shocking amount of weight. The supermarket tabloids had a field day saying the 100-pound Baywatch babe, gained a whopping fifty-pounds. Now Eggert's speaking out in an INSIDE EDITION exclusive.
Eggert: "At first I didn't recognize myself. It said, ‘Baywatch Babe.' And then I looked at it, and then I went, ‘Oh my god.'"
Eggert says despite the tabloids saying she gained fifty pounds - it was really only 30-pounds. But she kept her sense of humor and participated in a hilarious spoof of herself for the comedy video website, FunnyorDie.com.
Eggert: "I went through a really rough time...I lost my father in a really tough battle with cancer, and I also went through a bad relationship."
Eggert says she replaced her workout routine with food.
But she is now on a mission to get back in shape. She works out two hours a day, on the treadmill, doing crunches, and running on the beach.
Eggert: "Slowly but surely, I'm seeing results...I just feels good to be working out again."
She also says she's eating healthier, with a diet of fresh vegetables and salads.
Eggert tells INSIDE EDITION she hopes her fans will support her on her journey to get back into that famous red swimsuit.
Eggert: "I want to get back into my clothes again and be back to my normal size."
