LIONSGATE’S DEBMAR-MERCURY SELECTS CBS TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION TO SELL ADVERTISERS NATIONAL BARTER TIME IN ITS FIRST-RUN PROGRAMMING
CTD Adds All Current & Future Debmar-Mercury Product, including ‘Wendy Williams,’ ‘Caught in Providence’ & Fremantle’s ‘Family Feud,’ to Its 11-Show Media Sales Slate
NEW YORK AND LOS ANGELES, April 3, 2019 – Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury today announced its selection of CBS Television Distribution (CTD) Media Sales to sell advertisers national barter time in its first-run programming.
Under the multi-year deal, CTD has added all current and future Debmar-Mercury product -- including The Wendy Williams Show, Steve Harvey-hosted Family Feud (produced by Fremantle) and Caught in Providence -- to its existing 11-show media sales slate. Additionally, Karen Bonck, SVP, branded partnerships for Debmar-Mercury, will work closely with CTD on advertiser integrations involving these and new series produced and distributed by Debmar-Mercury.
As the premier ad sales team in syndication with 7 of the top 10 first-run strips, CTD replaces Debmar-Mercury’s longtime national syndication advertising partner, Twentieth Television.
Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus commented, “We look forward to having a long, productive relationship with Scott Trupchak and his great media sales team at CTD. We believe partnering with the top syndicator in the business positions our shows best to thrive. We will be eternally grateful to the teams at Twentieth and FOX Television Stations, which over our many years together put us well on our way to achieving the true value of our product in the national barter marketplace.”
“We’re excited to grow our portfolio with another top 10 hit in Family Feud and a young-skewing topical talk show like Wendy Williams to offer more value and one-stop shopping to our advertising clients,” said Steve LoCascio, Chief Operating and Financial Officer of CBS Global Distribution Group. “We look forward to working with Mort and Ira in this new endeavor.”
With the addition of Debmar-Mercury’s strips, CTD’s media sales slate will now reach 80 million viewers* each week. CTD is home to the #1 show in syndication Judge Judy; two of the most watched game shows in syndication Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!; the #1 talk show Dr. Phil; the top two magazine shows Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition; and the top two court shows Judge Judy and Hot Bench. In addition, CTD distributes the Emmy Award-winning talk shows Rachael Ray and The Doctors.
