DENNY DIRECTO

Correspondent

Denny Directo is a correspondent at ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT. Directo previously served as a digital correspondent and producer for ET.

He began his journalism career at ET in 2010 and became an integral part in the brand’s success in the digital, social and livestreaming space. He helped launch ET Live in 2019, served as on-camera talent for ET Digital’s Latinx vertical, ET Más, and has anchored special live events programming for the Oscars, Grammys, Golden Globes and more.

Since becoming a correspondent during ET's 42nd season in 2022, he has won four Emmy awards, including the first-ever Daytime Personality-Daily Emmy alongside the rest of the on-air hosting team in 2024 and has conducted headline-making interviews with some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Prince Harry, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Ryan Gosling and Zendaya.

In 2020, he hosted and produced ET’s very first Pride special. He has also served as a guest host on Revry TV’s queer-centric news show, Culture Q and interviewed LGBTQ celebrities for It Gets Better’s 10th anniversary project, “10 Years Better.”  

Directo served as host for CBS’ official red-carpet live stream at the Tony Awards in 2018 and 2019 and the Recording Academy's official GRAMMYs livestream backstage at the 2023 ceremony.  He has also appeared on HLN and CBS News’ streaming service to deliver entertainment news headlines.

A University of California, Santa Barbara, alum, Directo earned a bachelor’s degree in both Communication and Film & Media Studies.
