Zoë Kravitz on Her Dream Directing Job

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/jAm8PgK4ylXv

Drew: I am so happy for you both. You both deserve all the happiness in the world and what you have created together in finding each other is putting out a film that is an absolute game changer. You should win an Academy Award and I also think everybody is going to be knocking your door down to direct their films because boy you are it.

Zoë: I mean thank you so much. Can I just say, I mean I don’t know what the plan is but if there is a ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot, that would be my dream to direct. Like my dream. Those are my favorite movies.

Drew: Really?

Zoë To the point where I’ve called my agent about this.

Drew: It’s really funny that you say that because I called my agent too and I was like, ‘Would Zoe ever consider?’

Zoë: Shut up, shut up.

Drew: I am not kidding because ‘Charlie’s Angels’ is all about mixing tones. Let’s go.

Zoë …I can’t believe you are saying this. I can’t believe we just made a deal on television.

Zoë on Casting Channing Tatum in her new film “Blink Twice”

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/naUGTQzQKcTh

Drew: There is text within this very beautiful romantic glimpse…What I love about this, may I call him Channing? I don’t know him.

Zoë: Yeah, Chan call him Chan.

Drew: Oh okay, well when Chan, you direct him in this scene and I don’t want to give anything away but in my opinion there needs to be a big Academy Awards push for his performance because it’s one of the greats, it’s one of the finest performances I’ve ever seen and he also goes to places that are very risky. How did he know to trust you? He was willing to go to places that I think any actor would be terrified to go to.

Zoë: Yes, I think he was excited because I think often times people think of Channing Tatum and they think about the dancing, the charisma and he’s very handsome and he’s funny.

Drew: Likability, that’s what he risks in this film.

Zoë: Yeah, exactly and that’s why I cast him. I didn’t know him until this film so when I was writing I was thinking who could play this part and there were a few reasons I wanted Chan. One was I felt in my heart he was a feminist. ‘Magic Mike’ to me are feminist films. They are about men but they are for women. And so I saw those films and I was like I think this guy gets it. I also knew the character Slater King needed to be someone that we trust. I wanted to weaponize his charisma.

Zoë on Date Nights with Channing

Drew: We have a clip actually, I was talking about you and Chan…It might be a danger to the planet. This much chemistry might take us all down. I mean, no, but seriously, like, I, I know what it would look like if I was hanging out with someone, it's like couch delivery, food TV, sweatpants, hangout set. I feel like they have a record player and they're dirty dancing and like, there's like a pizza in the corner on the floor with some candles around and it's just like the hottest night ever.

Zoë: I love you. It’s not far off. No truly like, definitely pizza on the floor, dirty dancing less.

Drew: But what is it like to dance with him?

Zoë: I hate it. Because he's so good that I get all like, weird. I get really awkward.

Lenny Kravitz Surprises Drew

Lenny: That is the most beautiful interview I've ever seen ever. Oh my God. Oh, so beautiful.

Drew: I'm a forever changed person because of what your daughter put into the world.

Lenny: It was so good to see you.

Zoë: Can we exchange numbers.

Drew: Absolutely I’ll get it to you.

Zoë: I know this is amazing.

Drew: I know. And the fact that she has a snake, I'm getting a snake tattoo. I've been looking at illustrations.

Zoë: I'm coming with you. This is happening.

Drew: Th snake bite in the movie is a very important story detail and I got bit and I'm forever awake. It's the most powerful. How, how do you feel about this it’s so hard to put into words. Lenny: You verbalized it in a way that I can relate to because to, to see people understand it and to articulate it and how deep it really is. It's incredible cause that's how I feel about it. If it wasn't my daughter, I would still feel exactly the same. And the fact that it is my daughter just makes it that much more of a blessing, you know. But that was the most beautiful interview.

Zoë: I know, I'm like, I never wanna leave. I wanna live here now.

Drew’s News: Drew & Valerie Bertinelli on Getting Married Again

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/B4BIZgyL0qZB
Valerie: People reports that Kaley Cuoco is engaged to actor Tom Pelfrey. Kaley previously said she would never get married again, having been married twice before. Drew, you think you would ever walk down the aisle again?

Drew: You know, it's so funny. I was about to be like, never. And I guess ok, I've been married three times. And it's funny because when you have a break up you have a break up and it seems like, oh, it didn't work out. You know, I, people don't always work out, things don't always work out but much to a Dax Shepherd's point when you get a divorce, it's so shameful. And so you're like, I'll do anything to avoid that shame again. So I think for me it's like less about, I also then I'm like, well, I would get married four times over the course of my lifetime. You gotta at that point, like own it and be a baller and be like I get married whenever I want and you, you lay out a tone and a foundation that people can't question because you're not questioning it.

Valerie: And if you are in love. I mean, like good for her. I mean, if I've learned anything at this age it’s never say never.

Drew: What about you?

Valerie: Well, I've been married twice and that shame thing, you just like that slapped me in the face right there because I think during anybody's life, I think we're slowly from childhood building and adding shame into our soul. And I think the, the key to feeling beautiful and feeling like you're worthy and feeling like you are enough is to release a lot of that shame. Now, there is good shame, but there's also bad shame that will keep you in self loathing. And that's what I'm working on right now. So do what you wanna do, do what feels good. As long as you're not hurting anybody do what you wanna do.
