Drew: Welcome to Dear Drew, a segment we literally designed based on old fashioned television where you write in, you call in, you submit a question that you have that's burning. We all have them funny enough. This really came about because I, myself asked Oliver Hudson a burning question that I had. We were just doing ‘Hollywood Squares’ together. And I was like, ‘What should I do? I’m single.’ And you just calmed me down and brought me back to center. So I was like, well, if you made me feel this good, we need this for other people.

Laura: So I have been with my husband partner for 20 years. We've been married for 11 and I would like suggestion or advice on how to ask him to open up about his emotions and be honest and forthcoming with how he feels and how to be able to talk openly.

Oliver: Well, I have a question when you got together with him. Was he the same way? Like was he has he always been sort of closed off emotionally? It's tough because, you know, again having that vulnerability, being vulnerable is a scary thing….And I'm speaking from experience because for me, with women, with my mother and my sister and my wife, it was very hard for me to express love. I did it through writing because it was safe. But if I had to say, ‘You know what, I, I love you so much and I'm so just proud of you and I'm, I'm so excited to be in this relationship,’ I would feel like I would want to crawl into a hole. But I have been in a lot of therapy and have dealt with a lot of stuff to be able to be vulnerable, to be able to express emotion, you know, and, and not be afraid of it. So my advice would be if he wants to get into therapy, get into therapy or just give him my number. I'll call him, I'm not even kidding. Like if your husband is willing to talk to me, I'll do it. I love this stuff and I, who am I? I'm not a licensed therapist. I just have my own ideas, my own feelings.

Drew: We have a video call from Deanne calling in Pennsylvania.

Deanne: So I'm in my forties and I'm still looking for my first love. It's been hard to find a guy around my age who shares my interest and wants to start a family. I was wondering what I should prioritize? Where should I be looking?

Drew: This is literally like the question I asked Oliver the other day.

Oliver: First of all, how is that possible? You're so beautiful and you're so radiant like you're, I don't get it…Are you getting out actually in social areas, social settings to meet men, meet people in person?

Deanne: I am more now. I'm forcing myself to in person. I find that men generally don't approach me.

Oliver: You know so why are you waiting for that? Approach them? Geeze look at you. Go approach them say, ‘Hey what’s your name?’

Drew: Oliver, I have a question for you. How would you feel if a woman approached you?

Oliver: I would love that. I mean, honestly, that's how when I was single, I was too afraid to approach women. I was very afraid, I was scared. Again not to get into my whole my own psychology, but I experienced a lot of rejection in my life and I just don't like that feeling. So I would kind of be the guy who would sit back and wait for someone to come up to me.
