“60 Minutes” Wins Three Awards

“CBS News Sunday Morning” Honored with Outstanding Recorded News Program Emmy

CBS News won four News & Documentary Emmy Awards Wednesday, Sept. 27, during the 44th annual ceremony presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

60 MINUTES, the #1 news program in the nation, led the Network with three Emmy wins for Outstanding Writing: News, Outstanding Edited Breaking News Coverage, and Outstanding Edited Interview. CBS NEWS SUNDAY MORNING, the nation’s #1 Sunday morning news program, earned the Outstanding Recorded News Program Emmy.

CBS News’ national security correspondent, David Martin, was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Gold Circle for his more than 50 years of service.

Additionally, the Academy inducted Rand Morrison, executive producer of CBS NEWS SUNDAY MORNING, into the NATAS Silver Circle, which honors journalists with more than 25 years in the field.

The 44th News & Documentary Emmy Awards are presented over two days at the Palladium Times Square Theater in New York City. Emmys for documentaries will be awarded tonight.
