CRAIG WILSON NAMED EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF THE “CBS WEEKEND NEWS”
Adrienne Roark, president of newsgathering and editorial for CBS News and Stations, shared the note below with staff to announce Craig Wilson’s expanded role:
Hi everyone,
I’m pleased to announce that Craig Wilson has been named the executive producer of the CBS WEEKEND NEWS.
As many of you know, Craig has dedicated much of his career in journalism to CBS News. He first walked through our doors in 1995 and has worked on almost every show and platform we have here. And for the past four years, he’s overseen the Weekend Evening News as a senior broadcast producer and newswriter, broadening the reporting of “Weekend Journal” by highlighting the great work at local stations across the country.
The WEEKEND NEWS couldn’t be more important at a time when breaking news doesn’t take weekends off. Over the past year, Craig and his team played a critical role in our coverage of the assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump, President Biden’s decision not to seek another term, and much more to help drive our 24/7 efforts during this relentless news cycle.
In his nearly 30 years here, Craig has become integral to our organization. We’re happy to see him take on this new role and continue his great work alongside Jericka and the WEEKEND NEWS team.
Please join us in congratulating Craig!
Thank you,
Adrienne
