CBS NEWS CORRESPONDENT NANCY CORDES GOES TO THE TOP OF ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER, WHICH IS JUST SIX FEET SHY OF EXCEEDING THE HEIGHT OF THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

CORDES INTERVIEWS WORKERS ABOUT THE RISKY, HISTORY-MAKING JOB TONIGHT ON THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY”

CBS News Correspondent Nancy Cordes goes to the top of One World Trade Center, which is just six feet shy of exceeding the height of the Empire State Building, to interview workers about the risky, history-making job. The report will be broadcast tonight, April 11, on the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY (6:30-7:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network.

In tonight’s report, Cordes ascends 93 floors – via a construction elevator and a series of ladders – to the top of the building, where workers are putting beams into place. Cordes interviews Tommy Hickey and Michael O’Reilly, members of an elite, four-man crew of ironworkers. One World Trade Center, when completed, will be the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere.

Patricia Shevlin is the Executive Producer of the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY.
