CBS News political correspondent Ed O’Keefe has been presented the Ruben Salazar Award for Communications by UnidosUS.

The annual award honors journalists who demonstrate excellence in the field of journalism and communications and for accurately representing Latinos in the media. In his acceptance speech, O’Keefe praised his parents – his mother is from Guatemala – along with his wife Valerie and his co-workers at CBS News. Click here to watch O’Keefe’s acceptance speech.

UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza) is the nation’s largest Latino civil rights organization. The annual honors were presented during UnidosUS virtual Capital Awards program.
