CBS NEWS’ “CBS SUNDAY MORNING” EARNS TWO NEW YORK PRESS CLUB AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM

CBS SUNDAY MORNING, CBS News’ top-rated Sunday morning news program, has earned two 2020 New York Press Club Awards for Excellence in Journalism.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING earned honors in the business reporting category for “Deal or No Deal?,” contributor and NPR correspondent Allison Aubrey’s report on the growth of dollar stores around the country. Dustin Stephens is the producer, Mike Levine is the editor and Rand Morrison is the executive producer.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING was also honored in the feature reporting category for “All Her Sons,” correspondent Seth Doane’s story on Ruth Coker Burks’s efforts as an early AIDS caregiver and advocate. Dustin Stephens is the producer, and the editor is Steven Tyler. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.

The annual New York Press Club Awards honor excellence by writers, reporters, editors, producers, photographers and multimedia journalists. Entries this year were judged in 30 categories. Winners were selected from hundreds of entries submitted by TV, radio, newspapers, websites, magazines and newswires in New York City and around the country.
