CBS News chief foreign affairs correspondent and FACE THE NATION moderator Margaret Brennan will travel to Beijing, China to report on the series of high-level meetings Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to have with officials from the People’s Republic of China. Blinken’s trip to China is the first by a Secretary of State since 2018 and the first by a cabinet-level official since Joe Biden was elected president. Brennan will report from China at a time of strained relations between Washington and Beijing following the February shootdown of the Chinese surveillance balloon that crossed into American airspace — an incident that derailed a previously planned trip by Blinken to the Chinese capital, where he was expected to meet with President Xi Jinping.
