"EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS" BEGINS SECOND SEASON WITH COMEDY LEGENDS

Academy Award Winner Whoopi Goldberg Guest Stars;

Jason Alexander Guest Stars And Directs

Hollywood, CA, August 14, 2006 ?? Jason Alexander has been tapped to guest star in multiple episodes of the critically acclaimed comedy series EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS.  He will also direct an additional episode.  Alexander joins Whoopi Goldberg in the star studded list of guest stars making their way to Brooklyn.  EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS premieres on The CW, Sunday, October 1 (7:00-7:30 PM, ET/PT)

Alexander will appear in two non-consecutive episodes of EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS as Principle Edwards at Corleone Jr. High School where Chris (Tyler James Williams) attends.  In the first episode, Principle Edwards (Alexander) makes Chris take part in the "Buddy System" with the school bully.  In the other episode, the two bond when Chris is the only student to show up at school after a snowstorm. 

Goldberg will also appear in two episodes of the series as Louise, a woman from Queens who moves in next door to Chris' (Tyler James Williams) family, and whose granddaughter is the latest object of Chris' affections.

Behind the camera television sitcom veteran Don Reo ("Blossom," "M*A*S*H") joins the talented writing staff.  And award-winning choreographer Debbie Allen ("Fame") will direct multiple episodes.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS made its debut in September 2005 to the highest-ever ratings for a comedy on UPN.  It enters its second season, anchoring Sunday nights for The CW, TV's newest network, as one of television's most acclaimed series. It has garnered prestigious Golden Globe, People's Choice and Television Critics Association nominations, won the NAACP Image Award and was honored as Best New Series from the Family Friendly Programming Forum. Such TV comedy legends as Jimmy Walker, Jackee Harry, Loretta Devine, Antonio Fargas, Ernest Thomas, Clarence Thomas III, to name a few, have guest starred.  Inspired by his childhood experiences, comedian Chris Rock narrates the hilarious, touching story of a teenager growing up as the eldest of three children in Brooklyn, New York during the early 1980's. 

The single camera comedy series stars Tichina Arnold as Rochelle, Terry Crews as Julius, Tyler James Williams as Chris, Tequan Richmond as Drew, Imani Hakim as Tonya and Vincent Martella as Greg.

Alexander is perhaps best known for his eight year stint as George Costanza on "Seinfeld."  For his memorable role, Alexander received numerous award show accolades including multiple Emmy nominations, Golden Globe nominations and SAG Awards.  Recently, Alexander starred in the 2004 CBS series, "Listen Up," where he portrayed the well-known sportswriter Tony Kleinman alongside "Cosby" alum Malcolm-Jamal Warner.  In 2001, Alexander starred in the television series "Bob Patterson" for ABC, where he played a motivational speaker.

Goldberg is one of a very elite group of artists who have won the Grammy ("Whoopi Goldberg," 1985), the Academy Award ("Ghost," 1991), the Golden Globe ("The Color Purple," 1985 and "Ghost," 1991), the Emmy (as host of AMC's "Beyond Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniel," 2002) and a Tony (Producer of "Thoroughly Modern Millie," 2002).  Her nationally syndicated live radio show, "Wake Up With Whoopi," will premiere this fall.
