LIZ PERL NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING, FOR SIMON & SCHUSTER ADULT PUBLISHING
NEW YORK, April 28 - Liz Perl has been named Senior Vice President, Marketing, for Simon & Schuster Adult Publishing. Ms. Perl will join Simon & Schuster on May 19, reporting to Michael Selleck, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Simon & Schuster, Inc., who made the announcement.
Ms. Perl comes to Simon & Schuster from Rodale Inc., where since 2005 she has been Vice President and Publisher of Rodale Books and Rodale International, and Director of Rodale DVD. During her time at Rodale, Ms. Perl published more than 20 New York Times bestsellers, including, The Intellectual Devotional by David S. Kidder and Noah D. Oppenheim, LL Cool J's Platinum Workout, and An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore. She created branded book programs for successful franchises such as The Biggest Loser, The Abs Diet, and Eat This, Not That and developed multimedia marketing campaigns including magazine and online partnerships, network television partnerships, event marketing, direct mail and direct television.
Ms. Perl worked at Penguin Group (USA), from 1994 through 2005, beginning as Executive Director of Publicity for a number of imprints, then serving as Vice President, Director of Marketing and Associate Publisher for Riverhead, Perigee, and HP Books. There she worked with bestselling authors including Khaled Hosseini, Nick Hornby, and Nora Roberts. Prior to Penguin, Ms. Perl was Director of Publicity for Avon Books and Publicity Manager at HarperCollins
In her new position, Ms. Perl will work with all the Simon & Schuster Adult Publishing imprints (Atria, Free Press, Pocket Books, Scribner, Simon & Schuster, and Touchstone-Fireside) on their marketing activities, including advertising and promotion, and will be responsible for all cross-imprint projects and promotions, trade and online retail marketing, and academic marketing.

Ms. Perl holds a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University in New Orleans. She divides her time between New York City and Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey.
