HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - March 17, 2008 - Complete with action-packed fistfights, high-speed car chases and determined justice, the first season of MANNIX, television's long-running detective drama about a tough and cynical private investigator debuts on DVD June 3 from CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment, just in time for the show's 40^th anniversary. 

With four Golden Globe^® wins, including Best TV Show, MANNIX stars Mike Connors who earned a Golden Globe and four Emmy^® nominations (Outstanding Continued Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role), for his portrayal as the cool-headed, classic American detective Joe Mannix. An old school detective with rugged good looks and a snazzy convertible car, Mannix is known for being able to take a barrage of physical punishment, play out hunches and make decisions based on gut feeling.  Season One finds Mannix working for a fancy high-tech investigation agency that uses technology to analyze and fight crime; the rough-and-tumble private eye would typically ignore the computer - and his boss - and set out to fight crime the best way he could.

With complex plots often leaving the armchair detective puzzled until the very end and a classic theme song by "Mission: Impossible" composer Lalo Schifrin, MANNIX quickly became one of the most popular and original detective series on television.  Season One also stars Joseph Campanella who garnered an EmmyÒ nomination for his role, as the head of the detective agency.  The show featured a variety of celebrity guest appearances including Kim Hunter, Tom Skerritt, Richard Mulligan, Norman Fell, Karen Black and singers Neil Diamond, Neil Young and Stephen Stills.  Packaged on six discs, MANNIX: SEASON ONE includes all 24 episodes from its first season and special features including interviews with Connors and Joseph Campanella and optional audio commentary on select episodes.
