Grant Wahl Joins CBS Sports as Analyst and Editorial Consultant on Paramount+ Original Soccer Documentaries
Concacaf Men’s World Cup Qualifiers continue this week with live matches across Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network, from October 7-13. Additionally, CBS Sports will continue to offer live pre-match, halftime and post-match studio coverage throughout the Qualifiers.
Additionally, Grant Wahl joins CBS Sports as an analyst and editorial consultant. Wahl will provide on-site recaps of U.S. Men’s National Team matches throughout the Qualifiers and serve as an editorial consultant for the Paramount+ original documentary series Stories from the Beautiful Game. Wahl, a longtime soccer journalist, covered the sport for Sports Illustrated for 25 years and spent seven years at Fox Sports. He is a New York Times best-selling author and host of the “Fútbol with Grant Wahl” podcast and newsletter.
On Thursday, Oct. 7, Paramount+ will carry three matches with Honduras vs. Costa Rica, Mexico vs. Canada and El Salvador vs. Panama. Jenny Chiu will host CBS Sports’ studio coverage, joined by Nico Cantor and Charlie Davies. Mexico Women’s National Team player Janelly Farias will contribute to coverage on-site in Mexico, while Wahl will provide updates from the United States vs. Jamaica match in Austin, Texas.

Coverage on Sunday, Oct. 10 will feature Panama vs. United States, Jamaica vs. Canada, Costa Rica vs. El Salvador and Mexico vs. Honduras. Studio coverage will be hosted by Kate Abdo with analysts Clint Dempsey, Oguchi Onyewu and Davies, along with Maurice Edu. Play-by-play announcer Andres Cordero and Edu will call Panama vs. United States. Chiu will report on-site live from Panama.

On Wednesday, Oct. 13, CBS Sports will feature Canada vs. Panama, Honduras vs. Jamaica and El Salvador vs. Mexico. CBS Sports HQ anchor Amanda Guerra will host studio coverage, alongside Farias, Chiu and Cantor. Play-by-play announcer Adrian Garcia-Marquez will call El Salvador vs. Mexico with Farias as match analyst, while Wahl will provide on-site coverage of the United States vs. Costa Rica match from Columbus, Ohio.
