Kevin Carter is currently a studio analyst for CBS Sports’ college football coverage, as well as an analyst for select NFL coverage for the network.
Prior to his work with CBS Sports, Carter hosted a show on ESPNU, The Experts and College Game Day, and worked for Fox Sports South. He started his broadcast career as analyst for WKRN News 2 in Nashville to cover the Tennessee Titans pre-season game broadcasts.
A 14-Year NFL veteran, Carter began his career with the St. Louis Rams, who selected him with the sixth overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. During his tenure with the Rams, Carter led the NFL in sacks in 1999 with 17, and won Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000.
In 2001, Carter joined the Tennessee Titans, where we was selected to the Pro Bowl during his second season with the team. He went on to play for both the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring in 2009. During his career, Carter amassed 104.5 sacks, two Pro Bowl appearances, one All-Pro team, and a Super Bowl ring. In September 2015, Carter was inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame by his beloved coach with the Rams, Dick Vermeil.
Throughout his career, Carter has dedicated himself to numerous charitable endeavors, and was voted by his Titans’ teammates as the Community Man of the Year during three of the four seasons he spent with the team. In 2002, he founded the Kevin Carter Foundation, which has helped raise over $2.4 million for charity through various events, including his Wishes Celebrity Waiters Dinner, where celebrities join him from all over the country to wait tables on patrons.
Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Carter attended the University of Florida, where he an All-American in 1994.
