- Skye P. Marshall
August 2023
Skye P. Marshall is a proud Chicagoan and a veteran of the United States Air Force. After her enlistment was fulfilled, Skye graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication, media & theatre (CMT program). She then moved to New York City and trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Broadway Dance Center.
Marshall has built a career playing vibrant characters on film and television. She is most known to audiences for her recurring roles as Mambo Marie, a powerful Haitian voodoo princess, in parts three and four of the hit Netflix series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”; and as Kara Fowdy on seasons one and two of the CW series “Black Lightning,” based on the DC Comics superhero.
Skye will co-star in the upcoming independent features “Coup!” with Peter Sarsgaard and Billy Magnussen, from the writer/directing team Austin Stark and Joseph Schuman, and “Daft State” alongside Christopher Backus. Recently, she filmed the feature “Park Avenue” by writer/director Gaby Dellal, starring opposite Katherine Waterston, Chaske Spencer and Fiona Shaw.
Skye made a splash at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival for her performance in Qasim Basir’s independent feature “To Live and Die and Live” alongside Omari Hardwick, Amin Joseph and Corey Hardrict. Deadline noted Skye’s captivating and electric performance, writing, “In the role, Marshall is vibrant and compulsively switched on and one hopes that she can find more roles and films in which her tremendous energy can be productively channeled.” Skye’s additional film credits include Mo McRae’s thriller “A Lot of Nothing” from executive producer David Oyelowo, which debuted at SXSW Film Festival, and the lead of Hallmark’s Mahogany cable feature “To Her with Love.”
Next, on television Skye will star opposite Academy Award winner Kathy Bates on CBS’ highly anticipated one-hour drama series MATLOCK, reuniting her with the executive producing team of Jennie Snyder Urman and Joanna Klein. Skye plays Olympia, a formidable attorney with a thirst for justice and a key rainmaker at New York’s most prestigious law firm. Juggling work and life, she remains laser-focused and not the easiest to impress, which is apparent when she is tasked to oversee a third junior associate.
Skye’s additional television credits include one season as a series regular on the CBS medical drama GOOD SAM, starring Sophia Bush and Jason Isaacs, and executive produced by Jennie Snyder Urman, Joanna Klein and Katie Wech. Other notable credits include EAST NEW YORK; “This Is Us”; “The Fix”; “The Hypnotist’s Love Story”; “9-1-1”; “The Rookie”; NCIS; “Major Crimes”; “Shameless”; “Grey’s Anatomy”; “Misconduct,” with Sir Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino; the romantic comedy “A Nice Girl Like You,” with Lucy Hale; and “MVP,” executive produced by Sylvester Stallone.
Marshall resides between Los Angeles and New York. Her birthday is Oct. 21. Follow her on Instagram @skyepmarshall.
