Augustus on “Walker Independence”
Philemon Chambers stars as Deputy Sheriff Augustus on The CW’s highly anticipated new series WALKER INDEPENDENCE. A striking Black man with a warm smile and eyes filled with a world of experience, Gus is the deputy in Independence. Gus gives every impression of being the trusted face of law and order in town, while keeping his tragic past and personal issues to himself. Methodical, patient and willing to do whatever it takes to keep Independence safe, Gus begins to suspect the man he calls sheriff while questioning the town he’s given so much to protect.
Born in Torrance, California and raised in Compton, Chambers still resides in Compton to this day. Growing up he was always fascinated with television shows and most specifically the Disney channel. One day his parents took him to the Hollywood Pantages Theater where he saw “The Lion King” and he knew what he wanted to do with his life. He was six years old. He took it upon himself to perform no matter where – intimate performance with just his family watching, or in church doing plays he came up with as the popular character Madea.
Perhaps best known for his role as Nick in the hit holiday movie “Single All The Way,” Chambers began working as an extra when he was 13 years old, where he appeared on shows such as “Cold Case,” “Criminal Minds,” “The Forgotten,” “Good Luck Charlie,” “No Ordinary Family,” as well as appeared in commercials. He took a four-year break from the entertainment industry where he made a living working as a waiter while juggling acting. He returned to television in late 2019 and appeared on “All Rise” and “Of Hearts and Castles.”
He is passionate about his craft and is excited about what’s to come next……
